Had my son remind me what the first rule of self defense is: staying out of a fight.

While playing an aggressive game of basketball, he gets physically knocked down in a defensive play so the the player being covered sucker punches him. There is no doubt that my son could have handled this chump, but he showed the maturity and wisdom enough to walk away, as this jackass had his “boys” right by him watching the game.

No doubt had he thrown the next punch, he would have been swarmed.

It would have been easy to have given in to rage and taken care of business in any number of ways he has learned in Krav Maga, but caution is the better part of valor. He proved his superiority in not just avoiding the fight, but schooling him on court the rest of the night.

Well done, my son! Last night you proved you are a real kravist!
