Self Defense teachings can get caught up in the world of “what ifs?” Every situation can have a million variables that range from the size of your attacker, the levelness of the terrain, the weather conditions, etc. Rather than focus on the “what ifs?”, it is more important to train the “what is.”
You must be vigilant and see what is actually taking place. Observe the situation with clarity and react with the training you have. As Bruce Lee wrote, “Take things as they are, punch when you have to punch, kick when you have to kick.”
